PJ Challenge 13-22

I know, it's been awhile. Anyway, here you go.
------------------------
Day #13: Favorite Prophecy
Um, the first great prophecy.

A half-blood of the eldest gods
Shall reach sixteen against all odds
And see the world in endless sleep
The hero's soul, cursed blade shall reap
A single choice shall end his days
Olympus to preserve or raze

Don't ask me why I like it. I have no idea.

Day #14: Favorite Location From a Quest
Daedalus' workshop. It just sounds so cool!

Day #15: Favorite Mythical Creature (type)
Pegasi. I know, Pegasi has already been the answer to one already. But they're just so cool!

Day #16: Favorite Mythical Creature (individual)
The would have to be either Blackjack (I know, big surprise right?)
or Rainbow (Tyson's Hippocampus)
I just love both of them.

Day #17: Most Memorable Moment (PJO)
I would say when he gets claimed,  I think. During capture the flag, Percy gets claimed by his father as he stands in the small river marking the boundary line. I think it's a pretty memorable moment.

Day #18: Most Emotional Moment (PJO)
*spoilers for Last Olympian*
When Percy takes the knife for Annabeth.  On the bridge, he can sense there's someone behind him, so he turns and Annabeth has taken a poison knife for him. It's kinda really emotional.

Day #19: What Would Nectar or Ambrosia Taste Like to You?
I have no idea. Well, actually, I think it would taste something like camping food. Baked beans, or anything like that. Because ambrosia and nectar don't just taste like your favorite food. It tastes like your favorite memories too. And camping is definitely a favorite memory.

Day #20: Favorite Special Ability
I always thought it would be so cool to fly. I mean, just to go outside and shoot up into the air and explore. Wouldn't that be so cool?

Day #21: Favorite Couple
I like Perabeth and Frazel and Jasper, but I also really like the little ships. Chris and Clarisse make a good couple. And I love Silena and Beckendorf together.

Day #22: Favorite Roman Aspect of a Greek god
Um, I would say with Bellona and Athena. Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. Bellona is the Roman goddess of war. Battle strategy and wisdom, along with war, go hand in hand. It's cool how they're ever so slightly similar. (But very different, too)

Trust

She stands on the small plastic chair. "Move back farther!" she giggles. "Catch me, Emma!" My babysitting charge leaps into my arms, squealing with delight. "Again!" She repeats the process several times. Finally, I tell her it's time to stop. She decides to play hide and seek instead.

This little scene happened on Friday when I was babysitting a little girl from our library. She has an amazing imagination and is so full of joy. She's like my little sister:)

Anyway, while this was happening, I was having a small revelation. I realized that this is how we should be with God. Fully trusting. We should be able to leap into God's arms and trust Him to be there and catch us. Never having a doubt as to whether or not He'll be there.

Today, at our co-op, we were doing trust falls. I had never done one before. Joe(my brother) stood behind me. "Come on, Emma. Just fall. I'll catch you!" And he did catch me. But then the second time, he took a few steps back without me realizing. Thanks, Joe. That scared me.

I did it a few times with my friend, then. "Don't you trust me?" Kay asked. I did trust her, and I leaned back. She caught me every time. Each time, she moved farther back. There's kinda this exhilarating but terrifying second when you realize you're too far back to catch yourself.

Anyway, here's my tie-in. Even though its hard, trusting God is the best possible option. Every time. All the time. Yeah, it's hard to build up that trust. "Will you really catch me?" we ask. "Of course. Don't you trust me?" He answers. And so we lean back and fall into His waiting arms.

PJ Challenge days 11-12

Day #11: Least Favorite Minor Greek god
Janus. He annoys me so much. I guess because I'm already horrible at making decisions--like even tiny ones--and then he would just make it even harder… he's definitely my least favorite.

Day #12:Favorite Mode of Transportation
Pegasi. Obviously. They're so awesome! I mean, they fly. And they're horses. How cool is that?! I think I would ride one everywhere.

Just wanted to let people know that I won't be posting for a few days(I'll be out of town)

(Just a photo to entertain you. It's all CHB people)

PJ Challenge Days 4-10

Hey! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Anyway, Here's the PJ challenges I missed:)
-------------------------------------------------
Day #4: Favorite Camp Event
Capture the flag. Or the campfire sing alongs. I think both would be pretty fun.

Day #5: Favorite Weapon
Does this mean character's weapon or type of weapon? I'm going with type of weapon. And I have no idea. Um, maybe... no weapon? Okay, how about brains/wits/common sense(which a few characters lack)? That sounds good. and relatively non-violent.

Day #6: Favorite Major Greek god
Apollo. Because of music. And drama. and the sun. He's just awesome. Except for his haikus. Artemis is my second favorite:) One time for a birthday party, I dressed up as Artemis and my little brother dressed up as Apollo. It was really fun!

Day #7: Least Favorite Greek god
Okay, it's not Hera. I know a lot of fans hate her, but I played her once and it's hard to hate a character you've played. I think it's Aphrodite. Something about her just ticks me off sometimes.

Day #8: Who Would Your godly Parent Be
I've debated a lot over this. My friends tell me one thing, my head another. Some think I'd be daughter of Athena, but I'm not terrified of spiders. Maybe Hermes, but he's the god of thieves, so no. But I think (again) I have to go with Apollo. I mean, music! Drama! That is me! I'm not the best at archery though, but oh well.

Day #9: Favorite Monster
...Does Cerberus count? Cause I'm going with Cerberus

Day #10: Favorite Minor Greek god
Hestia. The goddess of the hearth.

So there you go!

The Places We'll Go.....

Today, I read a really inspiring book.

I can't describe just how it was so inspiring, but for some reason, I loved it.

So maybe you want to know what it is.

You've probably read  it a zillion times. But I don't really ever remember doing that. So here it is.
-------------------------------------
Oh, the Places You'll Go
By Dr. Seuss

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care.
About some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."
With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.

And you may not find any
you'll want to go down.
In that case, of course,
you'll head straight out of town.

It's opener there
in the wide open air.

Out there things can happen
and frequently do
to people as brainy
and footsy as you.

And when things start to happen,
don't worry. Don't stew.
Just go right along.
You'll start happening too.

OH!
THE PLACES YOU'LL GO!

You'll be on your way up!
You'll be seeing great sights!
You'll join the high fliers
who soar to high heights.

You won't lag behind, because you'll have the speed.
You'll pass the whole gang and you'll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you'll be the best of the best.
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.

Except when you don' t
Because, sometimes, you won't.

I'm sorry to say so
but, sadly, it's true
and Hang-ups
can happen to you.

You can get all hung up
in a prickle-ly perch.
And your gang will fly on.
You'll be left in a Lurch.

You'll come down from the Lurch
with an unpleasant bump.
And the chances are, then,
that you'll be in a Slump.

And when you're in a Slump,
you're not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself
is not easily done.

You will come to a place where the streets are not marked.
Some windows are lighted. But mostly they're darked.
A place you could sprain both you elbow and chin!
Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in?
How much can you lose? How much can you win?

And IF you go in, should you turn left or right...
or right-and-three-quarters? Or, maybe, not quite?
Or go around back and sneak in from behind?
Simple it's not, I'm afraid you will find,
for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.

You can get so confused
that you'll start in to race
down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.
The Waiting Place...

...for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the mail to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or a No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a sting of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting.

NO!
That's not for you!

Somehow you'll escape
all that waiting and staying.
You'll find the bright places
where Boom Bands are playing.

With banner flip-flapping,
once more you'll ride high!
Ready for anything under the sky.
Ready because you're that kind of a guy!

Oh, the places you'll go! There is fun to be done!
There are points to be scored. there are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that ball
will make you the winning-est winner of all.
Fame! You'll be famous as famous can be,
with the whole wide world watching you win on TV.

Except when they don't.
Because, sometimes, they won't.

I'm afraid that some times
you'll play lonely games too.
Games you can't win
'cause you'll play against you.

All Alone!
Whether you like it or not,
Alone will be something
you'll be quite a lot.

And when you're alone, there's a very good chance
you'll meet things that scare you right out of your pants.
There are some, down the road between hither and yon,
that can scare you so much you won't want to go on.

But on you will go
though the weather be foul
On you will go
though your enemies prowl
On you will go
though the Hakken-Kraks howl
Onward up many
a frightening creek,
though your arms may get sore
and your sneakers may leak.

On and on you will hike
and I know you'll hike far
and face up to your problems
whatever they are.

You'll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
You'll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life's
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and 3 / 4 percent guaranteed.)

KID, YOU'LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!

So...
be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O'Shea,
you're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So...get on your way!
-------------------------------------
(And I've decided I'm going to read it at my graduation)
(but my graduation is a rather long way off, so I'm going to forget about that.)

PJ Challenge days 2-3

Day #2: Favorite demigod
This one is so hard!! I love all the characters but I think I have to say Percy (just because he's, well, Percy) and Hazel.

I love Percy for just so many reasons. He's just a great character. You can see his character development. I can't explain exactly why I like him so much, but he's definitely one of my favorite characters.
(Credit for art goes to Viria, an awesome fanartist!!)

And now Hazel. I think I like her so much because she's my age(well, kinda.) And so that helps me to relate to her some. And she's awesome because she has this really dark past that she's fighting, but she doesn't let it bring her down.

So yeah, I think they're two of my favorites. But I really do love all of them:)
--------------------------------------------
Day #3: Least favorite demigod
How am I supposed to choose a least favorite demigod?! They're all amazing! But I guess, if there was ever one who ticked me off, it was Clovis. The kid in Lost Hero. The son of Hypnos. I don't know why but he just annoyed me.

Maybe because Annabeth was trying to something really important and this kid just kept falling asleep.

Who knows.

Anyway, yeah. If I had a least favorite demigod, it would be him.

Percy Jackson 30 Day Challenge!!!

Okay, in honor of the final Heroes of Olympus book coming out in exactly one month(!!!!) I have decided to do a Percy Jackson 30 day challenge!
——•——•——•——•——•——•——

Day #1: Camp Half-Blood or Camp Jupiter?

Camp Half Blood. Hands down.

Okay, so maybe you know the books I've grown up with. When I was younger, we would listen to the Harry Potter series every summer. Lord of the Rings has also been one of my fandoms since way before I knew what a fandom was. So I grew up with them. They've been a part of my life for as long as I can remember! And I love them:)

But anyway, back to Percy Jackson. I think The Lightning Thief was probably one of the first chapter books I ever read and actually enjoyed enough to read again. And again. I think I probably read it when I was about 6 or 7. And I loved it.

Camp Half-Blood has always been one of the most amazing-sounding places for me. I mean, a summer camp. Okay, maybe a little boring. But add archery, flying horses, a forge, and a climbing wall with lava running down it and it instantly becomes pure awesomeness.

So yeah, Camp Half-Blood.

Don't get me wrong, I think Camp Jupiter's pretty cool too, but CHB has been with me longer. Plus, It's a bit more…how do I say this…forgiving. You mess up there, and maybe you get laughed at by most of the campers. But it's forgotten in a week. However, if you mess up at Camp Jupiter, you get sewn into a bag of weasels and tossed into the river.

Seriously. I wouldn't survive.

I'm a klutz. I knock things over. I fall over. I mess up.

I'd be dead in the first week.

So it's a Camp Half-Blood life for me. ❤

God Sightings

Hey everyone!

Sorry. It's been a long week.

Anyway, God sightings. Definitely a huge double rainbow outside yesterday:)

Staying at a friend's house for a few days while my parents were away for a honeymoon. Busy, but lots of fun!

Dance reunion! Almost everyone in my class last year was back again this year!

——•——•——•——•——•——•——

So yeah, sorry I didn't get around to any posts this week. It's been crazy.
